Metal Slug 2 — Mission 3

Rebel supply trains. For the third mission, focus on deliberate direction changes. Trying to move, aim and dodge all at once can hide the single input that needs improving.

CAMPAIGN LANDMARK

Dragon Nosuke is the end-encounter reference for Mission 3 of Metal Slug 2. It is followed by Mission 4.

Mission numbers refer to the original campaign order. Boss names follow the community mission reference; they are encounter identifiers, not official stage titles.

Rebel supply trains

Mission 3 travels along Rebel supply trains. A moving gap separates the trains, and the route eventually reaches a burning city where Dragon Nosuke appears. The Slug Flyer is this mission’s available vehicle.

Judge the distance between the moving trains before jumping. Unlike X, Metal Slug 2 does not insert the Keesi encounter into this mission.

Separate aim from movement

Try this focused practice plan during your run. These are optional goals to set yourself, not extra objectives or achievements awarded by the game.

  1. Practise a short change of direction while keeping fire held.

  2. Release jump between attempts instead of expecting a held button to solve every obstacle.

  3. At Dragon Nosuke, reset your position after a dodge before starting another attack.

How do I reach Mission 3?

Progress through Mission 2 in Metal Slug 2 to reach this mission. A new arcade run begins at Mission 1.

The Play button selects this title in the collection. It does not launch this specific mission, change the original game’s difficulty or unlock later stages. Use the guides below to read ahead while your campaign follows its normal order.

Can I return to Mission 3 later?

In a solo session, pause and use Save State after reaching the point you want to revisit. Open the same title in the same browser and use Load State to restore a compatible saved point. Saving again replaces the previous saved point for that title; a link to this guide does not include your save.

Manual continues include free credits. Automatic continues can be changed in Options & Controls → Gameplay. Neither option is a mission selector. Read the save and continue guide.

These are Classic keyboard defaults; saved bindings take precedence. Touch uses movement plus A / FIRE, B / JUMP and C / BOMB. Arrange touch controls before a long session, or see all controls.

This reference name also appears in Metal Slug X Mission 3. Metal Slug X revises Metal Slug 2; matching names do not mean that the approach, enemies or experience are identical. SNK’s series history describes the revision.
