METAL SLUG · ARCADE COLLECTION
Privacy & data
Updated 17 September 2026
Saved on your device
The game stores saved arcade progress, gameplay, sound, and display preferences, desktop key assignments, and touch-control layouts in your browser. Where the game offers a separate analytics choice, that choice is also saved on this device. It caches requested game files for offline play. These saves are not uploaded to a game account. Clearing this site's storage in your browser removes them and the offline download.
Google Firebase Hosting hosts the website and receives the requests needed to deliver its pages and files, including IP addresses. See Firebase’s privacy and security information for its handling of hosting and connection data.
Optional gameplay analytics
When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager measures visits and named interactions such as game_open, menu_action, game_action, game_pause, and setting_change. Events can include the selected arcade title, public guide page, input method, game actions, control choices, loading duration, native player joins, two-minute active-play milestones and co-op connection outcomes. Native player joins can include character selection and do not identify an original mission boundary.
Once analytics is enabled under the choices above, a short approved campaign code (for example, a specific YouTube video) can be kept in session storage to connect that visit with later game actions. Turning analytics off clears this code. Arbitrary URL parameters, referrers and multiplayer invite/reply codes are excluded. The game's event code also excludes names, emails, typed text, pointer coordinates, and session recordings. Google Analytics may use cookies and browser identifiers; requests to Google also carry connection information. Read how Google uses information from sites and apps and the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising
AdSense is configured for a clearly labeled display placement after the written content on four help guides: collection controls, phone and iPad play, two-player co-op, and progress and continues. Eligible ad requests load automatically after Google’s consent framework is ready; there is no separate player switch to enable ads. Google controls site approval and ad availability, and consent choices still apply. The game selector and player do not load our display-ad integration. Game overview pages, support, privacy and credits have no ad placements. Opening a help guide’s privacy choices removes its ad placement for the rest of that page visit. An unavailable ad never blocks play. Automatic ads between original missions are not enabled; they require a separate approved H5 integration.
Your choices
Open Options & Controls → Privacy from the library or pause menu to review your choice. Google’s consent service provides choices where its consent framework applies. If it reports that the framework does not apply, analytics is on by default unless you previously turned it off. The homepage and Privacy controls let you turn it off. A previously saved off choice stays off, including if your region changes. You can change it to On in Privacy once Google’s current settings permit analytics. Unknown, unavailable, unconfigured, or denied consent keeps analytics off. The game works with analytics declined.
Turning analytics off or withdrawing consent immediately stops this page’s analytics. Saving a changed decision may reload the game and end the current session; your saved arcade progress and settings remain. Events from before analytics was permitted, or while offline, are not replayed later. If the app opened offline and analytics is permitted, it starts sharing only new events after reconnecting. Google’s consent service may store its own consent record.
You can manage personalization in Google Ads Settings and review Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Your browser also offers controls to delete site data and manage cookies. Those Google tools apply to their services beyond this game.
Local two-player connections
When you choose Host or Join, the game connects directly to the other player's browser using WebRTC. The host shares only the game picture and game audio. Player 2 sends game controls. This feature does not request your camera or microphone and does not send connection codes to analytics or a matchmaking server.
Invite and reply codes contain temporary connection details, including local network information. Share them only with the person you want to play with. Codes expire after five minutes; the connection ends when you disconnect or close the game. The feature requires a Wi-Fi or hotspot network that allows the devices to communicate.
