FIELD GUIDE / KEEP PLAYING

Save progress, continue and play offline

Continues keep a run going. Save states preserve a point in a solo session. Offline downloads let a previously opened game load without fetching it again.

Are continues unlimited?

Yes. The bottom A / FIRE button changes to START or CONTINUE when needed and adds a free credit. You can also use Enter or START / CONTINUE in the pause menu. You do not need to buy coins to continue. Automatic continues is on by default and can be changed in Options & Controls → Gameplay. Switch it off to handle the original countdown yourself; manual continues remain unlimited.

In two-player mode, each player chooses automatic continues on their own device. Automatic continues responds when the original game presents a continue state. It does not give invulnerability or unlimited ammunition, and it does not advance a paused game.

Save and load a solo session

  1. Pause a supported game.
  2. Choose Save State and wait for the status message.
  3. Later, open the same title in the same browser, pause and choose Load State.

Saving again replaces that title’s saved point for the current game/core version. Saves live in this browser, not in a cloud account. Private browsing, clearing site storage, changing browsers or changing devices can make a save unavailable. Updates to the game or emulator can also affect save compatibility.

Metal Slug 4 save states are disabled while a graphics restoration issue is being fixed. Other titles offer local saves, but if a restored picture is incorrect, restart the title and use a different save point. Save and load are unavailable in multiplayer.

What works offline?

Open the site online first and allow the app shell to finish preparing. Start the title you want while connected so its game, core and requested audio files can be cached. Merely viewing the library does not download all six games.

Before travelling, test the intended title with your connection turned off. Browser storage limits or cleanup can remove cached files; a missing game or audio file still needs the internet. Installation alone is not proof that every title is downloaded. Keep important browser data if you want to retain local saves and downloads.

Come back to the right game

Use the permanent title pages below to open the matching game selection. A public game link shares the title, not your save state, score or private multiplayer connection. You can also add the homepage to your home screen for quick access.
