The original arcade game

The 2002 entry introduces the Metalish Gauge and timed medal bonuses.

SNK’s official series history provides the release background. This collection presents 6 main missions for this title; it does not add a mission-selection menu to the original arcade campaign.

Explore every mission

Open a mission briefing for campaign order, encounter references and a focused practice plan. Play opens the selected game; the original arcade campaign determines which mission comes next.

Six missions with a scoring focus

Metal Slug 4 is selected independently from the other five games. Its six main missions use the same browser movement, fire, jump and grenade controls. Once you are comfortable surviving an encounter, replay it to pay more attention to your score and item collection.

Plan for a continuous play session

Save State and Load State are currently disabled for Metal Slug 4 because restored graphics can be unreliable. Free continues still work. Pause to take a short break, but closing or reloading the page can end your current run; use another title if you need a resumable solo session.

Play it in this browser collection

The Play button opens the homepage with Metal Slug 4 selected. Choose Play Solo to download and open that title, or Host Two Players to begin a local co-op session. Press the bottom A / FIRE button when it says START, or press Enter, to enter the original game. The same button says CONTINUE when lives run out; starting and continuing include free credits.

Controls overlay the picture on phones and tablets. The equal-sized circular actions are A / FIRE, B / JUMP, C / BOMB and D / SLUG, with 70% opacity for new layouts. Your saved settings remain in effect. Choose Full width or Original proportions, then adjust button size, opacity and placement in Options & Controls. The mobile guide explains each setting. Two-player co-op uses invite and reply codes on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot; Bluetooth is not supported.

Continues, sound and saved progress

Save State and Load State are disabled for Metal Slug 4 while a graphics restoration issue is being fixed. A new page session starts a new run; free manual and automatic continues are still available.

Converted audio is available, with some effects still being verified. Read the progress and offline guide before closing a session or playing without a connection.
